The sangat of Gurdwara Singh Sabha of North Texas has worked alongside elected representatives and their teams across Texas to raise awareness of Sikhi—our faith, our values, and our presence in communities statewide. Through visits, conversations, and civic engagement in Austin and here in North Texas, we seek to build understanding, accurate representation, and lasting relationships between the Sikh community and public leadership.

These efforts helped lead the Texas House of Representatives to issue a Vaisakhi proclamation on 14 April 2023, recognizing the festival and the contributions of Sikh Texans.
